International Women's Day 2018 and March Newsletter

Hi all you wonderful people! International Women's Day is coming up, and I'm starting to see announcements here and there after I sent out our newsletter, so I'm going to update this post about them as I hear them.

I'll also be updating the post with other events of interest as well. Feel free to share any events with us via the comments.

Mistake in March's newsletter

It was highlighted to me that PredictConf is will be at RDS, Dublin not Cork. Apologies for any mistake and confusion caused, this is what happens when you edit late at night. Need a proof-reader. 😓

And if you want to read the March newsletter, you can read it here, feel free to share far and wide! 👩‍💻👨‍💻 -- Vicky

Last night I had a great opportunity leading a workshop called "Designing Inclusive Events for Meetup Organisers" run by Dogpatch Labs as part of their Diversity in Tech Week. We had over 25 tech community organisers discussing various scenarios from how to handle incidents if they occur at their events to looking for speakers and venues. Lots of great experiences were shared, and takeaways from areas people never thought of when organising events. We also had the pleasure to have Alaina Percival, the global CEO of Women Who Code joining us for the evening. It was a brilliant experience, I learnt a few things, and from the tweets from last night, I wasn't the only one who enjoyed it. A huge thanks to the community for their support and taking their lead to change how we run community events for the better. 🙌

International Women's Day Week Events

As I mentioned earlier there's a few events happening this week and I only found out about them, and International Women's Day is tomorrow, so here's what's happening so far:

Speaking of #IWD18, if you are thinking of going to Inspirefest and haven't bought your ticket yet, they have a 25% discount, head over to https://inspirefest.com/#tickets, offer ends tomorrow! (BTW, I'm not affiliated with them, it's just awesome event, and I bought my ticket already! 😍)

Another conference called Dublin Tech Summit has just added another 200 tickets as part of #IWD18, you've got till 17:00 March 8th to register for a ticket. And guess what, I've also bought my ticket, so I'll see you there in April.
